(AUBURN, WA January 22, 2019) - Guardian Roofing, a Seattle-based home service provider, recently announced the winner of the Guardian
Halo Project which awards one local resident roofing services they might not otherwise be able to afford.
Contestants applied for the services starting Thanksgiving Day 2018 through December 31, 2018. On January 22nd, 2019, Guardian announced that Cindy Lu Vaughn was the winner of the services.
Mrs. Cindy Lu Vaughn of Federal Way Washington is the recipient of the first ever Guardian Halo Project. Mrs. Vaughn is the beloved
neighborhood grandma and her doors are always open to those in need, whether someone needs a folding table or simply a hug.
Mrs. Vaughn was selected due in large part to the outpouring of local community nominations on her behalf. She is recovering from a brain bleed from two years ago and Mr. Vaughn is battling serious health issues of his own. Friends and neighbors always see a cheery disposition despite the couple’s dire circumstances.
The Vaughn’s home, while filled with warmth and good cheer, is in bad shape due to the deterioration of their roof. A large portion is in such poor shape that it has been tarped-off for the last two years and the majority of the roof is in disrepair.
The primary qualifying requirements for the project were nominees must be 21 years of age or older, own the home in question, reside in that home and are current on the mortgage payments.
According to Guardian’s Lori Swanson, ”Giving back to the community is at the core of Guardian and we are so excited to be able to help such a worthy recipient as Cindy Lu Vaughn.”
The Guardian Halo Project is a philanthropic project Guardian started this year where they pledged to give one homeowner in dire need a major roof repair or roof replacement.
