State Public Health Approaches to Addressing Arthritis
https://www.grants.gov/web/grants/view-opportunity.html?oppId=342294
The purpose of this notice of funding opportunity (NOFO) is to support dissemination of arthritis appropriate evidence based interventions (AAEBIs) and implementation of referral pathways to increase AAEBI access and participation, increase the proportion of adults with arthritis who get counseling for physical activity, reduce health disparities, and improve health outcomes for adults with arthritis. NOFO activities will be accomplished through collaboration with key stakeholders, national and state initiatives, and CDC funded programs in ways that support cross-referrals between interventions and help sustain activities beyond grant funding. AAEBIs and physical activity counseling, including physical activity assessments, will be available and accessible to people with arthritis who are disproportionately affected by arthritis, including, but not limited to high burden and underserved populations and communities. Lack of AAEBI availability and/or accessibility for disproportionately affected populations can exacerbate health disparities. The NOFO will address health disparities by making AAEBIs available to people disproportionately affected by arthritis, including, but not limited to, high burden and underserved populations and communities such as veterans, uninsured/underinsured adults or Medicaid beneficiaries; adults living in rural or frontier areas or other areas lacking health services or AAEBIs; adults with arthritis-attributable work or activity limitations, severe joint pain, disabilities or moderate to serious psychological distress; and adults from racial and ethnic groups with high arthritis prevalence or burden, e.g. American Indian, Alaska Native, African-American or Hispanic/ Latino populations.

This notice announces the opportunity to apply for funding under the Rural Communities Opioid Response Program-Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (RCORP-NAS). The purpose of this program is to reduce the incidence and impact of neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS) in rural communities by improving systems of care, family supports, and social determinants of health. NAS is a group of conditions that can occur when newborns withdraw from certain substances, including opioids, that they were exposed to before birth. HRSA is particularly interested in innovative approaches to service provision. For example, many rural hospitals may have excess space given declining inpatient utilization. Increasing PrEP Use Among Disproportionately Affected Populations in the United States
https://www.grants.gov/web/grants/view-opportunity.html?oppId=343409
The purpose of this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) is to evaluate the effectiveness of implementation strategies to increase PrEP use among Black women in women’s health clinics. Effectiveness will be assessed by measuring increases in the number of women who initiate, adhere to, and persist with PrEP. The project will use an implementation science framework to understand key factors that contributed to successes and challenges associated with the implementation strategies. PrEP is a safe and effective biomedical HIV prevention intervention that is under-prescribed and under-utilized among Black women in the United States. Women’s health care settings, including family planning clinics, community health centers, and other clinics that provide women’s health care services, may be ideal sites to provide PrEP because women who might benefit from PrEP receive care at these clinics for contraception, pregnancy testing, STI testing, prenatal and post-partum care, and other health care services.

T4C comprises 25 lessons that build upon each other and contains appendices that can be used to craft an aftercare program to meet the ongoing cognitive behavioral needs of a group. Not all lessons can be completed in one session, so a typical delivery cycle may take 30 sessions. Sessions should last between one and two hours. Ideally, the curriculum is delivered twice per week, with a minimum recommended dosage of once per week and a maximum recommended dosage of three times per week. Participants must be granted time to complete mandatory homework between each lesson. The program is designed to be used with justice-involved adults and youth, males and females in a traditional face-to-face classroom setting. It is intended for groups of eight to twelve and should be delivered only by trained facilitators. Due to its integrated structure, T4C is a closed group program, meaning members must start at the beginning of a cycle and may not join the group mid-stream (lesson five is a logical cut-off point for new group members).

Survivors from underserved populations face challenges in accessing comprehensive and effective victim services that are accessible, culturally relevant, and responsive. As a result, survivors from underserved communities often do not receive appropriate services. The Underserved Program supports projects that address these gaps. Funds may be used to: develop or enhance population specific victim services; develop or enhance outreach strategies to reach underserved survivors; build the capacity of population specific organizations to serve survivors of these crimes; build the capacity of victim service providers to provide victim services that are population specific; train and educate community partners and the criminal justice system on the needs of survivors from underserved populations; and develop culturally and linguistically appropriate materials for underserved survivors.

The goal of the RCN program is to advance a field or create new directions in research or education by supporting groups of investigators to communicate and coordinate their research, training and educational activities across disciplinary, organizational, geographic, and international boundaries. The RCN program provides opportunities to foster new collaborations, including international partnerships where appropriate, and address interdisciplinary topics. Innovative ideas for implementing novel networking strategies, collaborative technologies, training, broadening participation, and development of community standards for data and meta- data are especially encouraged. RCN awards are not meant to support existing networks; nor are they meant to support the activities of established collaborations. RCN awards also do not support primary research. Rather, the RCN program supports the means by which investigators can share information and ideas; coordinate ongoing or planned research activities; foster synthesis and new collaborations; develop community standards; and in other ways advance science and education through communication and sharing of ideas.
